Book a Free ConsultationBook a free 15-minute consultation online. It's a relaxed conversation where you can ask questions, share what's going on, and decide together whether we're a good fit — no commitment required.
We'll talk about what brings you in, what you'd like to be different, and which format fits best — ongoing couples therapy or the Relationship Reconnection Intensive. You'll leave with a clear next step either way.
It's helpful but not required. One partner can start the conversation, and we'll bring the other in when you're ready.
Yes. Every session happens over a secure, private video platform. You can join from home, the office, or even separate locations — anywhere in North Carolina.
Yes. Research consistently shows telehealth couples therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person work — and many couples attend more consistently online, which is what actually drives progress.
That works fine. Each partner joins from their own location, as long as you're both physically in North Carolina during the session (a licensing requirement).
A private space, a device with a camera, and a reliable internet connection. Headphones can help if you're joining from separate rooms.
No — Therapeutic Advances is private-pay. This keeps your care fully confidential (no diagnoses shared with insurers) and lets us focus on what your relationship needs rather than what a plan covers.
We'll discuss the right format and investment during your free consultation, so there are no surprises. The Relationship Reconnection Intensive is a structured 9-session program with a single, clear price.
In many cases, yes — therapy is often an eligible expense. Check with your plan administrator to confirm.
Tabitha Evans, LCSW — a licensed clinical social worker (NC license C007376) with 16+ years of experience helping couples with communication, trust, intimacy, and major life transitions.
It's a structured alternative to open-ended therapy — not more of the same. Instead of meeting indefinitely and 'seeing how it goes,' you and your partner meet face-to-face online for nine 90-minute sessions that follow a defined roadmap: mapping the cycle underneath your arguments, rebuilding emotional safety, repairing resentment, restoring intimacy, and ending with clear direction about your future. Each session combines couples therapy with relationship education and guided practice, and between sessions you receive weekly feedback, guided exercises, and secure messaging support so the work carries into real life. In total that's 13.5 hours of focused clinical work with a clear beginning, middle, and end — rather than months of open-ended sessions.
Yes — online premarital counseling for engaged and seriously committed couples across North Carolina. See the Premarital Counseling page for details.
Both. While the practice specializes in couples work, Tabitha also works with individuals navigating relationship issues — people who want to better understand themselves and the patterns that keep them stuck. Whether you're single and preparing for a healthy relationship, or struggling with a partner who isn't ready to join yet, individual sessions can help you see your role in relational patterns clearly and change them. See the Individual Therapy page for details.
Yes. Everything is held to strict professional confidentiality standards, with the limited legal exceptions your therapist will explain in your first session.
